Some of you have nasty garages...

The one thing I've noticed is after weeks of being down, the top doesn't line up with the strikers - you have to nudge it over, but no biggie.

Just think of the people with hardtops. Their tops are usually folded for months or years at a time.

No problem if you can deal with the mess inside the car

Get a cockpit cover from Roadstersolutions.com. 80 bucks and you can leave the top down and still keep out the bugs and rats. It's a custom fit and it takes less than a minute to install or take off.

Top down, car cover to keep out the bugs. I believe that would do just as good of a job as the top up. I still find spiders in my car (which stays outside with the top UP at all times when I'm not driving).

My top is down 99 percent of the time and has been since it was new.

The only thing you have to watch out for is a wear pattern under the latch when the top is down. It rubs and will eventually hole your top.

If you see a shinyness or paint missing from the back of the latch when the top is down, put some patches under it to act as a buffer.

The upholstery shop in Phoenix where I had patches put in to prevent the wear holes told me that it wasn't good to leave the top down while it was parked. He didn't really get into details on why, but I'd bet it has to do with the relatively thin material creasing and then tearing/leaking when put up.
