so i park in the garage every night and every time i go out i always put the top down, so i have started leaving the top down over night, i still put it up if i park anywhere else, but i figured by leaving it down at home it saves an up and down every time i use it, so i was just wondering if there was any negetive efect of doing this,

is there any negetive effect of leaving it down for a week or tow at a time either.

i just figure that by leaving it down i am saving up to 300-400 up and downs a year, so i think its a good idea, but if anyone knows better go ahead and let me know

Don't think there's anything wrong with this and I believe some people do it, except you might have spiders crawling into your car

The only reason I don't leave mine down inside the garage is because I don't want bugs getting inside.

yeah personally id rather no have shit come into the car, but if youre okay with that then okay. im guessing this does help not wear out the top and tear in the passenger side. but id be worried about creases in the top for being folded for so long?

Your fine. Most people with OEM Hardtops fold their top back and then install their hardtop. You will have a few creases but they will gradually go away.

I'd be concerned that mice would get in and start munching on your seats!

If I did this I would at least take 2 seconds to throw a cotton sheet over it after I parked to keep the dust and bugs out between drives.

I have heard that if you leave them down for awhile they shrink and its hard to get them back up. I haven't heard that it does anything particularly bad just that they shrink up a little and it hard to get them back up. Also if your putting the top up and down 300 times or more a year your top is probably going to start tearing soon. (just a warning)
