Are there anythings say a mugen ECU does that a V-AFC cant do with the proper settings?
Better to use a Mugen ECU and the the VAFC as the piggyback?
or does a VAFC make the effect of a Mugen ECU totally negligeble? Thanks for your input...
I hope to be running a AEM CAI/Mugen Header/HKS Hyper plus some tuning combo soon and would like some input!

Mugen ECU has preset fuel AND timing.
VAFC can control ONLY fuel... it is adjustable.
If I were you I would not run both, because the Mugen ECU leans out the mixture A LOT... so much that a VAFC would not be needed.
There is a thread going on in Under the Hood about UL posting a Mugen ECU dyno... very informative.

I don't know of anyone who's done it, but there's no reason you shouldn't be able to fine-tune your Mugen ECU settings with a VAFC, in just the same way as you would with the stock ECU. It's true that the Mugen ECU runs pretty lean, and most people use the VAFC to lean out the stock ECU... but who's to say that the pre-set Mugen values are best for YOUR car? You might find that richening the mixture at some points adds power.
Remember, the Mugen ECU was programmed to be used
a) along with other Mugen mods (header/exhaust, tstat, etc.)
b) on any general S2000.
So sure, slap in the VAFC, put the car on a dyno, and tune it on up! You'll probably make some improvements. The only question is, how much?
