i think its all preference and learning each of the product a little bit better (probably the purpose of this thread) will help you make the best decisioning. In that decisioning, let me ask a question that might help you to your next quest for gears.

When you purchase your gears, such as 57's, do you just order and bring it to a shop? I hear that you have to send your diff to i.e. ricks and he'll send it back.

also, a stock diff should work just as fine, but should you be having future problems?

I personally have 4.77. Ive never been in a car with 4.57 so I can't really speak of the difference between them. But compared to stock, the difference is night and day. But alot of it is in your butt dyno since you feel the extra torque off the line. Eventually you get used. But the key with being sucessful with 4.57 or 4.77 is that you gotta shift fast. If you dont, you lose the benefit of the gears. I went to a drag strip originally with 4.10 and then with 4.77 and with the 4.77, I was able to pull off a .01 compared to 4.10. Thats not really much. Out of 4 runs each time, with 4.10, I did 14.4 and with the 4.77, I performed a 14.3. There was a climate difference in favor of the 4.10 so may be I could have done a bit better than 14.3 with the 4.77. But my problem was shifting which I think Ive gotten better at. Highway isnt that bad, you get used to it. Bottom line this car is loud either way with 4.10 or 4.57 or 4.77 on the highway. Gas mileage is similar but depends on how you drive on city. On highway, stock gears are the best. Another note, if you do go with the 4.77, get some bigger rear tires. Im going to go with a 255-50-16 setup. Off the line, traction is a bit of a problem with 4.77, but you get used to it.

I have the 4.77's because I wanted to get to VTEC quicker. I accomplished my goal and am happy with the results.
4.57's are very good as well. I haven't heard any complaints from anyone who had them installed by HTG or Rick's.

Just about the only downside to lower gears (numerically higher) is that you're going to be revving a lot higher when cruising at highway speeds.

Hey Guys i have a question how much are the 4.57 and the 4.77 with installetion and I got another question if i get a 4.57 do i have to shift faster or is it just the 4.77 because i dont want to get a new clouch any time soon and one more thing does it give any difference between them at the 1/4 mile track if u compare 4.57 and 4.77? if so how much is the difference?
