Best Way To "Side Step" ?
I don't know about you guys but between the little stickies on the pedal and the grove in the floor board for the clutch pedal leaving nowhere to slide off.... it seems like a real pain.
My question is.... who's mastered this with the stock pedals and what is the best way to so as to be consistent?
Please help...

ok its kinda weird but try it on a back road to see if it works for you, line the car up, (heres the weird part) move your ass off to the left of the seat so your feet are a little diagonal to the pedals, catch the clutch buy the last rubber circle on the bottom right, rev to the desired rpm, and snap your foot to the right(so its behind the brake), boom clutch slams all the way out and catches, and your off
hope this helps, works for me

another thread on the topic, just more evidence that this isn't really healthy for the car.

Not that I would ever encourage this kind of thing you can do this is three easy steps:
Put the very tip of your shoe on the clutch pedal as it is all the way down to the floor. Make is to that the tip of your shoe is on the metal part of the pedal and not on one of the rubber thingies...
Rev to desired RPM
Slip your toe/shoe, which is barely on the pedal off the pedal.
Blammo, you have instantly taken many miles off your clutch, diff and tires...congrats!

Thanks, I appreciate the info. I've never done it or say... had to YET. I'm getting ready to replace the rear tires next week and the 054/055 clutch-trans repairs so I figured this might be the perfect time to practice a few launches (before of course).
Ya never know when you might need it.
BTW: I got over 16K out of the original rear tires!

I'd say go into an empty parking lot and crank the wheel to the side, hold it there, and ease up on accelleration, kinda fun feeling the back end slide around in a constant drift all the way around the circles you make. just keep the speeds low, because if you can't control it once it comes back around, well.. then again, that's what practice is for!
