best way to prepare for rear end slipping out?

Yes, VSA + good tires will keep you straight on the streets. I found that when I had crappy "all-season extreme" tires from the previous owner my VSA would kick in fairly often. After buying Star Specs it's only happened a handful of times and each time I knew it was coming. You can push the car VERY hard with VSA still on, so I see no reason to ever disable it on the street.

not that I care anyways...
I Dont live in SoCal, and it does work wonders. I had nearly bald re050's, raining heavy to the point I couldnt have seen 100 feet ahead of me. I decided to vtec and go all out while merging/changing lanes, the rear end kicked out like no other. The VSA brought me back to my lane so perfectly, and from there on out I will never have doubts about it. If I had no traction control on, I wouldnt have my car anymore basically. I was bein stupid, I think I was pissed off that day.

In an empty parking lot or something, make the tail spin on a corner and immediately let off the throttle to see what it does. It sucks balls. Make sure nothing is around you!!!

By the way, you can hit vtec in the rain as much as you want. The VSA is incredible in this car, it has saved me in wet weather when I was being stupid.

don't worry i did not give you a negative rep. i just have bad grip in the rain like most other owners. i always keep VSA on, even when dry my car isn't very planted in cold weather. my vsa light blinks plenty times in normal rain driving.

i guess i shouldn't thank people or i'll get a negative rep lol
and bmms8 do you really get it often? it never comes on when it rains, cept when i experimented that one day. i see my light come on more when it's dry than wet, mainly cause that's when i'm more aggressive i guess. and how cold is cold where you live? so far it's only been high 30s-40s here, and so far haven't had to many problems with traction
