Hey guys, well I need some new brake rotors and im running stock calipers and everything else but like the look of the slotted. (iv heard drilled give no benefits really so im going with slotted). Is there any reasonably priced slotted rotors that give same breaking/better breaking performance than just straight OEM?

Im just concerned that with the slots it would give less pad surface area against the rotor thus causing less grip. Anyway Thanks in advance

Those are good, just don't match any new rotors with any Project Mu pads... they will warp.

lol is there something just a little more then buying new oem rotors that are any better slotted? looked at those, they look great but they are like over $500

just buy some oem rotors and have them slotted.

I got a set about one year ago the brand I believe is called "Number 1" These rotors are both drilled and slotted. Definately an upgrade over OEM rotors. They seemed to throw a lot of dust in the beginning but that has since subsided. They ran me under $400.

as far as the benefits of drilled/slotted rotors, you will find proponents for both arguments. some will tell you that the holes and slots help cool down the rotors faster, create an edge that provides better stopping, and draw hot gases away from the whole brake assembly. others will tell you that all drilling rotors does is make them weaker and more susceptible to cracking/warping. i personally like the look of drilled and slotted rotors, but i'm leery and cheap, so i bought some oem rotors and dimpled and slotted them myself. they're already vented, so unless you're gonna be using them on the track you don't have to worry about them overheating; you get some extra edges to create a little more friction, but since they're not drilled all the way through they're not any weaker.

Isn't anyone else on here a little leery when people say "drill/slot them yourself"? I personally would *never* do that to any rotors. If i wanted slotted rotors, i'd get slotted rotors. Same for the drilled.

Brakes are a very very very important component to the car. I would never ever compromise them in a DIY fashion for aesthetics.

I run Project Mu pads with stock rotors and have no problems except for accelerated rotor wear (as I knew would happen). Why did your rotors warp from Project Mu pads?
