Default Best place to buy Mugen?

So I see King as the "official" importer for Mugen parts. But I've also seen some other sites that are importing them from Japan. What have been peoples experiences getting Mugen parts (specifically an exhaust for an AP2)? Is there a dealer that is recommended and does it really matter where I get it from? Or would there be some kind of warranty issue with going non-King?

Any thoughts are appreciated!

I bought all of my old Mugen parts used, but that was mainly because I'm an impulse buyer and didn't want to wait.

As far as I know there are a few reputable vendors who go through King to sell Mugen parts, and King is the only true distributer in the States. Most of the Mugen resellers get them off the "black market" in Japan - not to say that is a bad thing, but Mugen won't honor any warranty if you go that way. It isn't like you save a bundle buying from someone other than King.

When it comes to expensive car parts, I only go used or another avenue if I can save over 20% off the new price or get it much faster.

Hmm, so the warrenty is null/void if I don't go through King. It's not cheap, but perhaps that part alone is worth it. I've heard their service is pretty good, so maybe that seals the deal.

I'll also keep an eye out for an AP2 exhaust used, hadn't though about doing that....

From what I found, King has the best selection of Mugen Parts. I have found other sites that will have this and that, but they seem to be cheeper from king. It could be that they buy it from king and then jack up their price to make a profit. I really coudnt tell you for sure though. Your best bet would be to probally get it used, unless you got the money to go ahead and get it new in which case king has great customer service, so i wouldnt hessitate buying from them. Good luck man.

I'm not saying that at all - the vendors who redistribute for King still have the warranty attached.

My Mugen parts came from Bulletproof Automotive. They can get you anything and everything that is made for the S2000. If its not on their website it doesn't mean it doesn't exist or that they can't get it. Just call them. They are very competitive on price. And, all my Mugen came with Mugen direct warranty. Also, by my own personal experience, they will get you what you want the fastest as they import more often than others.

and to dispell other comments...here in the U.S., Bulletproof and King are the only importers of Mugen. So, if you see it somewhere else, they are either getting it from one of these two, or its "black market".
