Best Diff & Trans Oils?
When I was over on evom forums there were alot of products well reputed for giving quieter shifting etc. Just wondering if anyone used other than oem in the transmission and differential and with what results?

There really is no such thing as the "best" fluid. Climate seems to be a big reason for this (certain fluids do not perform as well in cold weather, for example).
Personally, I use Mobil 1 75w90 in my differential, and Honda MTF in my transmission.
A lot of people here like LE-607 for their diff. I'd probably use it if my car wasn't driven in -30 to -40 degree weather on occasion.

i tried Motul gear 300V 75W90, which is supposed to be a really good one for differential........it gave me lots of rolling/grinding type noise during low speed sharp turn.......I didn't realize it was the oil as I did wheel and spring changed the same day so I thought it was those two that gave me the problem........for monthsssssssss I was driving with the noise and after checking and rechecking all installations seemed to be fine so i gave up....One day it dang on me to switch to Valvoline synblend....the noise went away instantly........just my bad experience with that particular type of gear lube....

Here's a fun thread on the subject you might enjoy
amsoil..., trans and diff oil
I'm in the great white northeast and your in the warm southwest so my uses probably have nothing to do with your environment. Plus my car is a daily driver so I it needs to be reliable and able to handle any weather.
For TRANSMISSION I've used: Honda MTF, Redline, Amsoil, and GM Friction Modified. I keep coming back to GM SMFM and change every 8-10k miles. This stuff makes a truly noticeable difference for me during shifting.
Here's why I started using it ..
2004 Thread On GM Synchromesh Friction Modified Transmission Fluid
For DIFFERENTIAL I've used: Honda, Redline and Amsoil Syn. 75w-90 I can't run LE given the freezing weather here. But I bought 2 bottle to try when it get warm out. I keep coming back to the Amsoil because that stuff just won't break down.
Here's the back ground on LE. Great stuff but not right for everyone.

been using amsoil severe gear fluid for the diff and amsoil MTF...quite frankly my diff is a bit noisy. I'm gonna try switching to THe LE stuff.
The amsoil MTF is a little notchy in the morning but overall not that bad. i like it.
