Bent control arm. fixable?
hey. ive ran into my fair share of pot holes and speed bumps. and now my s2k is leaning to the right when i drive even after the alignment.
people who checked out my car said that my control arm is bent. either left upper or lower im guessing since the car is lower on the left side by maybe a centimeter but it effects the drive alot.
my question is that is there any way i can fix my control arm, bend it back or what not? or do i have to get another one and get it installed?

it's metal. i STRONGLY suggest that you don't bend any metal back (especially suspension components). it'll never be normal again unless you replace the unit.
for your safety, please get new ones.
even if it's barely bent, bending it back into place isn't suggested.

just to add to that krnmike, it's because of fatigue stress on the metal. if the metal was bent too far, it might've crossed into the plastic zone where deformations can be permanent. residual stresses that might still exist when you bend it back might help cause a sudden failure.
i dunno though.
maybe you should just get a new one just to be safe.
