Umm, I hope your not really considering hooking the battery straight into the wall. It won't get a charge that way but you will (and probably an explosion and flashfire to boot). Your gonna need a "trickle charger" between the battery and the wall socket.

Sounds to me like the battery is either dying (odd given the car's relatively young age) or that there is a short or some electrical draw that's draining it.
What's concerning is that the long drive isn't recharging it, either.
Sounds to me like a short in the system and possibly a bad alternator.
Trickle charging the battery may help...but if it's more than just a dead battery it's just a patch job and you're likely to run into the problem sooner rather than later...

it does get recharged.
i jump start it, drive my car for about 10 min, park it, turn the engine off-
start it again about 20 min. later, the car starts.
so i think my alternator's doing its job.
but if i park the car for more than about five hours, it dies.
so, i think it's either the battery itself, or like you said, a short in the system.

Why don't you jusdt take it to Autozxone and have the guy test it. They have a machine that will tell you if it is capable of holding a charge. If not, a new one can't be too much. A battery for my Explorer with the extended waranty and higher cranking aperage was only $70

Yup...bad battery or short. Bad battery would be a blessing, as that's a simple and cheap fix. Short can be a pain to track down if it's not one of the obvious sources (stereo or trunk/interior lights).

My sole word of advice is not to skimp on a battery. Buy more power than you need even if it costs a little more...it'll pay dividends in the long run.
There used to be a battery called the Black Panther Predator that four wheelers used that I think would be small enough to fit the S2000. I don't know if they're still around, but they were a stout battery. I also recommend Optima, but they don't have one that easily fits the S2000...and they're pretty heavy, too. You can never really go wrong with a good old Die Hard, though.
