Actually, "hella" is a slang version of the word "hell", stolen from Southpark. Cartman says it all the time.

There's no issue with leaving the top down all the time.. the problems that arise with the top are due to lowering/raising the top.

The elastic strap tends to wear out. Every time I lower my top I make sure that the bar the elastic strap holds (right above your head) folds all the way down while I lower the top.

Also, you need to be wary of the usual wear points.

The way I see it is that Honda designed this car to be a convertible so I am sure it went through extensive testing of the up and down motion. I would assume they would test the number of cycles as opposed to time elapsed while down, so I think that it would probably wear in certain areas when down all the time.

If I ever got a hardtop I think I would reinforce areas more prone to wear when leaving the top down for the extended period.
