Default backaches from sitting in your s2k?

anyone else have this problem? i sit in front of a computer for 8 hours at work, and i've slept on the same bed since i was in 7th grade. unfortunately, my s2000 doesn't help any.

who else has problems w/ their backs? would upgrading to brides or recaros be of any help?

before anything else, i think i would need to start w/ a new mattress. any reccomendations?

also, will doing lower back exercises help? i used to do a few lower back exercises before, but i would feel this sharp shooting pain and i'd have to stop (granted i was carrying a 25lb weight)

any help or insight would be appreciated.... driving an s2000 is suppossed to be a pleasurable experience!

Get a good desk chair and a good matress. There are tons of choices available for both.

Add an inflatable lumbar support to your seat. Had them in my Miata and now in the S2000. Takes Five minutes to install. Go to Miatamania.com and search "lumbar". I just checked and they are still stocking the product I am referencing.

-at work, getup and walk around at least every hour
-drop anything you have had since 7th grade
-"computer for 8 hours at work" is not an active life style, it has cought up to you?

-exercise and loose weight are must do things. start lite, ramp up the exercise and always stop about where your body starts to fatigue, pain is a bad. do an exercise routine (at a gym w/ initial professional advice) for your whole body, if your back hurts concentrate on other areas.

-a friend had typical xrays that never showed anything, a scan tho indicated some deformations and he has a print out. despite actual physical damage the doc recommended life style changes and exercise before they do surgery.

I recently switched to the new King size Temporpedic mattress and all the back aches went away. I now get the best sleep ever and have recommended it to friends and they bought it too and thanked me for the recommendation. If you can afford it (not cheap, I think it was over 4K) go for it and your back problems will probably end. This matteress is sold everywhere...[COLOR=red]

i have a slipped desk problem in my back and i know excactly what are you talking about, hope u'll not face this problem.
setting for long time will increase the problem,, change the setting every 10-15 minutes,, walk,, stand up,, never set for long time.
i did a physiotheraby and i'm recovered 90%,, must not stop doing the exercises until i reach at least 99% recovery
u must do back exercises to avoid it.
i hope this site will help.

side note,, put a small pillow (support) in the lower side of the seat while driving

have a nice day
drive safe (^_^) ```

edit: sleep on the hardest matress available
x-rays won't show anything,, MRI (Magnatic Resonance Image) will

I feel your pain, i had a minor slipped disc which caused my left leg to go numb after sitting for more than 20 minutes. One thing that helped was sleeping on my side with a pillow between my knees. I know it sounds wierd and it takes some getting used to but it helped alot. Good luck and get yourself checked out by a specialist.

I have had chronic lower back pain since my early twenties. I am now in my late fifties and never experience pain while driving the S. Probably due to preoccupation with extreme terror. I might suggest that if you are experiencing pain while driving, you are not going nearly fast enough.

Yes, I get lower back pain, as does my girlfriend if we are in the car for more than an hour or so. Planning on getting some small pillows for next year to help for longer drives....
