Avoiding rip in the top, quick question
Hey everyone,
Did a lot of searches here and found that many of you are putting the sticky, soft sided velcro on the inside of your tops to keep them from getting worn from the frame. My '04 has a bit of wear on the passenger side, so I put a big piece of that velcro there...the only problem is that after a few openings/closings the velcro came off. Any ideas on what I can do to make sure that spot is protected? I felt for roughness on the frame and it feels ok, but the spot is definitely getting worn. Maybe I should wrap the frame with the soft velcro instead? The only issue there is that there will still be movement across that worn spot on the top...if the velcro had stayed in place then it would have absorbed the friction of any movement.
Make any sense?

I got the industrial strength sticky velcro from Lowes...maybe it is too thick. I live in a smaller town so there is no crafts store...maybe Wally World would carry it? Just want to prevent any more wear on that spot...it is getting kind of thin.

Are referring to the sticky felt? I've used sticky felt and so far so good. Get them from Michaels.
