What is your average Rpm for gear changes for EVERYDAY driving. Per our manual, Honda has recommended speed per gear. It looks like that Rpm vary in the 3500 to 4000 rpm range. When do you guys change in everyday driving???

3,000rpm with a cold car, 3,000-3,500 when accelerating from a stop. This is ultraconservative mode of course, when driving in trafic, trying to keep my distance from the car in front.

I usually shift from 5-6k. Its a little high, but i seem to get the smoothest shifts in that range.

If I'm using the car merely for transportation, or in heavy traffic I usually keep it under Vtec, But if the road is clear, and I don't have a headache its 9k every time

4500-5000 unless I have need for extra adrenaline.

actually, I find at 6126.1 RPMs I get a little bit better fuel economy.

I keep mine between 3-6K for normal relaxed driving and get 18-19MPG.

Normal shifting for the everyday driving is 3000 - 4000 with a few VTEC's per day. Average mileage is 25 MPG. Freeway driving is in 5th or 6th at about 65 MPH.
