Default authentic Amuse VS. "Amuse style"

Ok guys I want to buy an Amuse lip. I do not mind spending the money on the real deal... As a matter of fact I would rather have the real one because I am anal about authenticity. The real lip is made of fiberglass. The "Amuse style" lip sold my Spugen is made of polyurethane. Now am I correct in thinking that polyurethane is stronger than fiberglass? I do not have much experience with lips or kits so I don't really know. If I can have a stronger lip for half the cost that would be great. What do you guys think?

I know some have had fitment issues with the Amuse style lip but I don't recall anyone have them with the real deal. Does the real lip fit better?

While we are on the subject, how many of you are like me: You would rather spend a little more and get the real deal from Japan than settle for a "knock-off."

before my s2k i went thru 3 body kits on my civic, simply cuz they were fiberglass and fiberglass easily cracks. i finally bought a urethane kit and it was SUCH a difference for the better! i would never buy a fiberglass bodykit/lip again! urethane flexes so if there is a slight fitment issue, you can bend it to fit; fiberglass you can not bend. urethane will also just flex on impact; fiberglass will crack. IMO definitely go w/ urethane, even if it's not authentic (especially if u use the car everyday). you will be MUCH happier with urethane...

I'd buy the genuine, fitment is everything. And yes, fibreglass is weak. But it always be repaired/repainted when required.

fiberglass

urethane

There's a reason why it's used at each end of most OEM's.

I have had zero problems with my authentic Amuse lip and fitment is perfect

It's taken a solid beating too, plenty of bottom scrapes and its in excellent condition.
