damn, same thing happen to me yesterday. I completed the oil, tranny, coolant, and the diff, but when i got to it i didnt have a 23mm close end torque wrench. I sprayed it with wd-40 and used a robo grip crap where i finally got it to break free after tons of attempts. the bolt is still ok exept for slight dmg but nothing to worry bout. I guess the only good thing to do is use the right tools.

i used a vice grip, basicly i made it so tight to the point i almost had my eyes pop out of my sockets when i was clamping it. then i took a hammer and hit the vice wrench and sure enough it came off in one wack.

I'll get on it.

I got it off !!! THANKS EVERYONE for your advices !!! and a special big thanks to viper for his write up.

I went to Sears, got the 23MM combination wrench, and used all 200 lbs of pure korean kimchi fury and broke the nut free.

I used the open ended side of the wrench because I was afraid of stripping the nut with a closed end side. And it was very hard to squeeze adequate amount of oil, so I made a quick run and got another bottle of mobil 1 75w90, and I blew the final .2 qt of oil with my mouth and almost ended up swallowing a whole bunch. lol. this job made me feel like a total novice. phew... i even installed NOS on my other car but this was TUFF ! haha. its drizzling now but i'm gonna go take my s2k for a drive now !

Any video of all this?

Valvoline makes a pump that should fit the Mobil bottle as well. About $6 I think. It's a lot easier than trying to get the bottle high enough to make the squeeze technique work. Leaves no aftertaste in your mouth either.

I would recommend a 45 deg offset box end wrench. 23mm.

As Xviper said, the longer the fill plug is in there, the harder it will be to break loose. It is a physical phenomenon of dissimilar metals - they actually tend to exchange atoms, and will "gall" together.

Every aspiring mechanic is taught always to loosen the fill plug first.
