ARC intake system
Hey guys i lookin to purchase a S2k in the next few months and when i do i was looking at purchasing the ARC Intake system with chamber for abotu 700 bucks. Now my question is, is it worth the 700 bucks in terms of power gains, quality etc because i dont want to buy something that does the same thing that a 300 intake does ya know, well any feed back would be great.

Most owners will tell you (and if you do a SEARCH) that the ARC intake is not good for much gain. You might even loss some hp from heat soak. Better off to get an AEM or similar filter-on-a-tube type intake or stick with stock.

Two words... "Easy Money" On a car like ours it is difficult to make gains, but on something like a civic or prelude, these intakes will make some power even if they aren't the best thing around. So they can charge twice as much as others since it isn't a standard CAI and has more parts equaling more profit for them.
It also helps to con in people who don't research before buying, after all it looks pretty serious and costs more so it MUST be better right?? Well atleast better for all those 16-year olds with civics then for us!
