Ap2 cluster into a 01 s2000

The AP1 cluster is the true race orientated cluster.
Have a look at it - you'll notice the inverse logarithmic nature of the values after 6krpm.
Subtle, but clever and purposeful!

Again ... redline close to the middle. I think Ferrari knows what they are doing when building race-like road cars:
on could argue that the AP1 is trying to mimic the LED lights on F1 cars' steering wheel, but the effect is slightly different there ....

the picture you show of the ferrari shows redline at 8.4K (looks like an f430) which is not in the middle.
also on F1 cars I don't recall redline being in the middle. If you are referring to the redline on the steering wheel - that's so that you know where center on the steering wheel is when counter-steering and turning etc.
the AP1 RPM gauge is very clever. basically between 8-9K is about 1.5" (not sure) and 7-8K is 1" etc. WHen the car is driven hard, you can focus more real estate on the important section, would give more accurate shifts as well.
a lot of race cars and motorcycles leave little to no room for 0-6K and tons of room above.
