Default AP1 vs AP2 questions

What are the differences in terms of interior space/room between AP1 and AP2? Reason I'm asking is because I could fit in AP1 without any major issues but I would barely fit in an AP2. I can't make a turn without touching my knuckles to my knees when I'm driving AP2. Seems like it's roomier in the AP1. I am currently shopping for a S2K and since AP1 are only in production from 2000 - 2003 my selection is limited.

I'm 6'3" btw.

AP2 has a bit more interior width due to more scalloping of the door inserts. maybe the leather on the transmission tunnel makes things a bit narrower... If you can't fit into an AP2 but you can fit into an AP1,

Maybe the AP1 you drove had lowered seat rails.

No the AP1 interior is all stock. I wonder if the seats are different thickness.

^opps, to sakeGT I like that mystery icon.

I didn't feel any diff when I drove AP1. But maybe who had both can chime in?

S2000 seats changed in 2006 I think - you can tell easily by looking at the head rest - open or filled in. What year AP2 did you drive?

I've driven AP1 and AP2 cars, and as Saki GT mentioned, the only difference was a bit more room near the doors in the AP2 (at least that I noticed). Not sure why it would seem that the AP1 is more spacious

Thanks! Stole it from another forum since we don't have it here...

There were no real interior changes other than the center tunnel, dash and door inserts design until 06, when the new seats added passenger airbag cutoff and a new design.

Drove a 2006 AP2 and a 2002 AP1 both with stock interior.

Steering wheel has a different design but that's it. The 06 seat is different - more padding. No, pre and post 06 seats are not interchangeable, but you can lower the seat with rails.
