is there big difference?
WOW! I wish someone would have thought to ask that sometime in the last 3 years! I'll bet there would be a LOT of information on it by now.

[QUOTE=centralcoastbuc,May 1 2007, 01:46 PM] What really makes a difference is the color.

I do know that the AP1 has a lighter flywheel, thicker rollbars, and obviously higher redline.......... Which means that AP1 is better.

Personally, I would go with an AP3. You won't regret it.

Don't forget the quicker steering ratio.

Two of my must-have-mods have always been a lighter flywheel and a quicker steering ratio, and the S2000 (AP1) is the first production car I've ever seen that didn't beg for same. Even so, when I do my clutch I'll be installing an even lighter flywheel.

Of course you do realize that these things make the car harder (or more challenging, depending on how you look at it) to drive.

I'm sure most of the people here would be much happier with a modern AWD Porsche, but there are a few of us who'd have a hell of a lot more fun in an old air cooled 911 turbo, not because it's better or faster, but becaue it's a more challenging (and hece more rewarding to some) car to drive. The AP1 is just as much of a challenge, and in some ways even more of a challenge, but most people don't buy a car to be challenged. Some do, but we're the odd ones.

I think by quicker steering you mean less nervous steering - its all a state of mind when you approach an S2000. Some people want a challenge in a car, some people want a reward, and what that means exactly only the individual can divine - for some people a challenge is a reward.
