ap1 vs ap2

I had a Silver 02. Sold it to get an 04-05. Drove a black 04, Loved it even more. Love the new look, with the OEM lip. Even though it has 8rpms, its a bit faster, cant really tell but still enjoyed the way it felt. The suspension in my opinion is even better. And most important, its still an S2000. Yeah, im getting an AP2.

i was a die hard ap1er, fell in love with the ap2, better car imo
As an owner right now of both AP1 (MY00) and an AP2 (MY06) there is no question to me that the AP2 is a better all around car. I still think the 9K redline of the AP1 is a great feature though.
As stated above it all comes down to which one YOU prefer. Good luck in your search.

there both great cars. you really have to drive both to see what you like. while i love the look(inside and out) of the AP2, i enjoyed the F20 and "raw" suspension of the AP1(i like my car set for oversteer bias). as far as the F20/2 debate goes, the AP2 makes more whp stock for stock by around 7-10rwhp on average. the both respond to mods the same, well chosen mods that is. the whole "s2k is maxed out from the factoy" crap was started by lazy s2000 owners that simply bought name brands and never actually tuned their cars. some things work really well on the s2k, and some are giant wastes of money.
couple quick facts:
1.) the s2000 LOVES single exhaust, even moreso the 63mm-70mm ones. 70mm has shown +13rwhp on stock car.
2.) the stock intake is best, dont waste the time to change it, unless you putting a turbo/SC into its place
3.)be cafeful what you do to the suspension, lowering the car to far, will ruin its razor handling skills in a hurry
4.) ECU tuning is one of the best bangs for the buck. the stock maps are pig rich and vtec can also be lowered about a 1000rpm, making a wicked, very un-honda-like midrange power curve.
if you have anyother questions dont hesitate to ask, thats what we're here for!
