do a tune-up, plus their are to many variables for anyone to say with certainty that there is something wrong with ur car.

This is the way i check my MPG. I fill up the tank right before entering the highway when going to take a longer trip, say 60-120 round trip. Then fill up immediately after exiting the highway. take the mileage traveled and divide it by the gallons to fill up the car. So if you traveled 100 miles and it took 5 gallons to fill up, then u mpg is 100/5=20 mpg(e.g.). I try to average around 55-65. If u average less than the highway rated for the s2000. I think it's 25-26 highway, then there might be something wrong.

My calculations are based on 4 fill ups with 32.5 tire psi... really don't have a heavy foot.. just the occasional fun here and there. I guess I hit 20 mpg once, lol. I could have sworn there was something with the AP1's that I read about here... something specific though. I'll update if I find the link or find something new to report. Thanks for the replies fellas!

Wow, you guys get TERRIBLE mileage.

I consistently get 360-390/tank, on 91 Premium gas, with mixed city/highway driving. I VTEC it every day, several times a day, so I'm not driving like a grandma all of the time (hardly at all, actually). Here's what I do, maybe it can help you achieve better mileage as well.

34 psi all around and check my air pressure once a week, fresh spark plugs, I clean my K&N drop-in filter every month, make sure my oil level is good every week, and I don't use cruise control. I'm using the UK alignment with Hankook Ventus V12 Evo tires, 225/45/17 in the front, 255/40/17's in the back.

Most importantly is the WAY I drive. I go through the gears relatively fast when accelerating/cruising in the city. By 25 mph I'm in 4th, by 30-32 I'm in 5th, and by 40 I'm in 6th. I don't have a heavy right foot and maintain a low level of load when accelerating/holding throttle. There are certain "sweet spots" in the throttle that maintain speed while using less gas. You just have to learn how to hold the gas lightly. Use about 25-40% of the throttle's maximum "range" (as in how far the pedal travels) for acceleration. Try it out.

This might a combination of the following

1. Tires - super sticky reduces mpg
2. A/C on will hurt city
3. Alignment, noticed my more aggressive had hurt it slightly
4. Driving style - try shifting at 3k and avoid more then 50% throttle
5. Spark plugs, oil, filters could all use inspecting/changing

Most of the time poor MPG is the driver

I would bet it's driving style. Less throttle and less rpms = more mpg.

BTW, I'm guesstimating that driving top down (as any self-respecting owner should be) saps roughly 2-3 MPG. So... yeah.

Any sign your e brake or something is sticking or bad wheel bearing? My last tank was 24 with my SC, I used to get 27 mpg every fillup when NA.

That is really bad! With 4.77 gears I would get mid 20's with city and highway cruising at 80 mph. Now I am sc'd and still get 22-23 or so mpg with lots of boosted vtec driving. I have never gotten under 220 to the tank before the light came on. Over 300 a few times and with the gears.

City mileage varies depending on how much traffic there is and how many stop lights per mile you hit. The traffic lights along the route I take to work were recently synchronized so you would catch only green lights if you drive the speed limit - the light changes to green just as you approach the intersection. That means there's less stop and go driving - just a constant, steady 35 mph. When the lights were synchronized my gas mileage improved noticeably.
