Thanks again to those that had some answers, as I thought softening the suspension a bit would ease the potential bite in normal driving.

I'm not even going to respond to everyone else because I don't get the point in slamming some anonymous poster on a message board for asking a harmless question. Hope you guys feel a little bigger now for saying I'm a horrible driver, the car will throw me into a ditch, buy a Volvo etc. What a helpful community your helping to create.

PS- Is it a coincidence the two idiots are both from Mt. Pleasant, SC?
Coincidence, nah, we planned it.

Ahhh name calling. The true sign of the weak minded.

You can be a hypocrite and call us idiots, but we aren't the ones worried our S2k is going to fling us into a ditch now are we?

I thought my suggestion was right on target. Go figure?

And anyways dude, a suspension isnt the only thing thats going to keep you out of a ditch. Magical anti-ditch suspensions are so damn expensive these days anyways. Maybe driving a little slower will help. Breaking before the turn and not during it also helps. If you got bald tires, those dudes are known for throwing people into ditches.

Other things to avoid because they are know to throw you in ditches:

1. Oil slicks
2. Bouncers and Bodyguards
3. Catapults

Honestly, i think my Volvo suggestion is the best damn advice you've gotten. Good luck!

No you aren't. You are the ones bashing someone who doesn't want their only car to end up totaled like hundreds of other S2000's. Forgive me for trying to take precautions unlike the other S drivers. If that makes me an idiot then fine, but I would rather be the idiot trying to help himself than the idiot putting people down from behind an anonymous screename.

People that drove those hundreds of other S2ks couldn't dive either. You seemed to have believed them when they tried to blame it on the car and "snap-oversteer" (which BTW is completely made up).

me: pointing out that you might not be the best driver and should look to improve yourself before the car
you: getting your panties in a big bunch
me: helpful
you: name calling

Sorry, still don't see it. You can continue if you want but I think I'm done here...

Save the money from the Suspension conversion and go to a driving school. They are like anti-getting thrown into a ditch academy's. And you can apply your experience to every car you ever drive and not just this one.

I heard something about softer bushings in the upper control arms. Is this true? can someone verify this?

i dont get why people go crazy about ap1 vs ap2 handling. If you need added stability just upgrade to very good coilovers and perhaps get wider rear tires. No need to add ap2 parts into ap1. You dont want to skimp when doing suspension upgrades for the s2k since you dont want to be buying cheap coilovers and downgrading from the otherwise awesome stock suspension. I think most people are scared to drive their s2ks fast because of the lack of traction control. The car I had before was rwd with traction control and it has saved my butt many times. Now that I drive a "pure" sports car, I think taking some driving classes are in order.

Are the AP1 and AP2 springs/shocks a direct swap? Any other mod needed? My friend with a MY04 AP2 got some Zeal's and offered me his stock springs/shocks setup, is it worth the time to put them in on my MY00 AP1 and would I feel any significant difference? Thanks

perhaps the best saying i've ever heard:

the first and best mod for ANY car is the driver experience and skill mod...

not trying to offend anyone, but for any situation when your behind the wheel, driver skill level is the most important thing.

That guy had a valid question, so if you know post, if not, keep it for your self.

I've driven a 2005 model my own and you gotta be an idiot to loose the rar end.
I have a 2003 and you can loose the rear end just like that if you do the "wrong thing". I have 255 Michelin PS2 in the rear and a 16 way adjustable track suspension.

Now a driving school will make you a better driver, but will not make the AP1 suspension more "forgiving". Not everyone is a Schumacher here, so you can't blame him for asking this. It's still better than asking for "the best header".

The person who started this topic, wants to have a "more forgiving" suspension set-up and has the good right to ask us for help.

If you think that posting a Volvo will help him, you better don't post at all.

peace
