yeah best beat would be to use the search button or get other reviews on both models. wouldnt want a flame war to happen. trying using reviews on both models that arent bias towards each model. a thread like this seems to come along every soo often

You really need to drive each car back to back and make up your own mind. If you really can't make up your mind after driving both, get the lower miles car.
Fwiw, the 04 car has over 2000 changes from the 03 - Shigeru Uehara/Honda looked at the AP1 and re-engineered almost all aspects of the car.

I like both equally. I like the 9k redline of the ap1 and the looks of it more. But the Ap2 is safer and seems to have more potential in upgrades cuz of the 2.2 ltr.

AP1's DO NOT SUCK! If they did, I wouldn't have fell in love with them back in the day in the first place. There are just a lot of improvements that started in MY04, and not many downsides (again, in my opinion), and most can be easily remedied.
Others have made good AP1 points in here, like better gearing. On that point, note that AP2 did replace synchros with carbon fiber parts to fix issues (or potential issues). Read up on that. Otherwise, I believe they are a direct swap in, no?

Stock, the ap2 wheels are an advantage, but not so much the width as the diameter. Currently there are few decent performance tires for 16" rims.
But for FI...I would want wider wheels than the ap2 to comfortably run 275s to get that traction.
