I belive the Ap2 an better overall car. Its newer, faster (only by a little but still about 1 or 2 car lenghts from a 40 roll). More torque for daily driving, I have heard smoother transmission the AP1s tend to have a 1-2 gear grind when shifting hard. Ap2 interior is nicer to me also...

AP2s tend to be nicer if for no other reason than they tend to be newer. The newest AP1s are five years old now. Not exactly ancient by Honda standards but still, any 5 year old drop top is going to develop a few squeaks and rattles, a bit of wear on the seat bolsters, a small tear or two in the top, etc.

AP2s have a tad more torque and develop peak torque at lower RPM. Since the S is going to feel slow for a while (coming form an SR20DET powered sx), every little bit of torque will help you with that boost jones.

I bet dollars to doughnuts though that you end up adding forced induction to your S, unless you just turn into a real track-rat or conehead.

If you are looking for more low end torque get the AP2. It has a better interior, exterior, wider wheels, etc.

I like my AP1 better though. 9k is appealing as a hell to me.

i love the 9k rev of the ap1 but like s2kman said there is a 1-2 grind resulting in mis-shifts. i never mis-shift in any other cars but in the s2ooo somehow i get a problem where i can't pop it into second if i'm accelerating too quickly...

^^^^^^^^^^^ I thought this only happened to me???

damn i've owned multiple manuals, consider myself a good driver, and still have trouble now and then when power shifting at wot into 2nd.

I would say 1 outta every 20 I hit a gear wall when shifting into second.
It's quite embarrassing and is f'in up my synchros

the 04+ cars do not have this grind. you're not shifting correctly if you are getting this in your 07. Also, the AP2 is newer, and responds to mods a bit better. It has been proven.

I pretty much want a screaming slammed vtec beast...
To help u make up your mind in making your decision I highlighted this quote of yours as an example of why I am suggesting the choice I made... which is Ap1.

Ap1 has 9k redline and you want a screamer.
Ap2 has 8200k redline(yes I said 8200k...Fuel cutoff for ap1 is 9k and fuel cutoff for ap2 is 8200k)...not as much of a screamer as the ap1 but still fun imo.
Ap2's are known to put down a couple more whp than Ap1's but are still rated at the same hp output(I said hp output...not tq output, and I know that the tq went up from 153 lb. to 162 lb.).

But you want a screamer so your choice would be ap1 since it redlines just a little higher than the ap2.

Boost(supercharger or turbo, your choice) is recommended in your situation coming from an already boosted s13. Good luck

The first question any one should have asked was what is your price range. That may decide what your getting.

I have an 03 with no tears in the roof or grind while shifting. Their are a few rattles but i seem to have goten them to stop.

You're really just gonna have to break down and drive both and really get a good run out of both of em. As for the 1 - 2 shift yes its a problem now and again. It goes down to what you want and what you like. I got the Ap1 because I liked the body style better. Most like the Ap2 style better plus like most said wider wheels nicer interior and all of da bling bling. Have fun with whatever you end up with. In the end I do believe you'll end up boosting it anyways.
