Default AP1 or AP2

Hey guys. So I know this topic has been beaten to death. I have looked at previous threads but I figured this would be easier, having my questions answered directly. Anyways, I'm in the market for another s2000. I'm ready to buy now, just waiting for one to come up that I like. I owned an ap1 previously so that's what I have been looking for. However, a very clean ap2 has popped up in the area and it's definitely made me think. I wanted the ap1 purely for the 9k redline but is it really worth it? I'll be using the vehicle for 95% daily driving. I know the ap2 has more torque and less top end (essentially.) Should I just go for the ap2 or will I miss the higher redline? I've never driven an ap2 so I don't know personally the differences in handling, etc. I did like the driving of my ap1 though. So yeah, any advice or information is appreciated!

Thanks
Luke

Get an '06 or later AP2. Its Flash Pro tunable for impressive mid-range power. Startling change when it's all tuned and VTEC slides in seamlessly at 3,600 rpm, the exhaust note changes, and the car surges forward. 4,800 rpm worth of VTEC before the rev limiter stops the fun at 8,400 rpm.

Are the 06+ models the only ones flash pro tuneable? Regardless of mods, etc?

Yep. It's all about the engine's computer. You need to fit an expensive aftermarket ecu and possibly different sensors to tune the other cars. The '06 or later "drive by wire" cars are ready to go. DBW also gets you traction control and stability assist. I don't know enough about "tuning" so I had mine professionally, Gernby tuned. Transformed the car. My wife says "slow down!" much more frequently.

The same power characteristics can be had with a non DBW 04-05 ap2. Don't need a flashpro to achieve that. But some prefer a DBW s2k. I do not. I think the 04-05 retains most the rawness the ap1 does which made it a fun car, wile refining some things that needed refining. The ap2 drive train is better and so is the rear suspension geometry.

I recommend 08 AP2. Just because...
