Default AP1 Airbag on AP2 Wheel

Hey everyone,

I know the steering wheel thing has been discussed on here, but my question is this: Will an airbag from an AP1 wheel fit on an AP2 wheel?

Also do the cruise buttons come with the wheel or the airbag?

Thanks!

The bag may fit, but the color will be off. The "black" on the ap2 has more gray than the ap1.

Ya and if its from a 2006+ then you will not be able to hook up the SRS plug. but you should be able to make the horn and CC work.

Yep, that's why I was asking if I can use the airbag from and older one on a newer wheel, since I might be able to get the wheel for really cheap from an 07 with no airbag.

Sorry to burst your bubble of hope my friend but AP1 steering wheel airbag will not fit our AP2's. It is slightly larger then the AP2, slightly large enough to not fit correctly/safely. Although the harness is the same I wouldn't try and fit the AP1 to the AP2 mainly due to safety reasons. I mean what good is a safety device if it has a higher probability to hurt you than protect you right? I only know this because I'm actually working on an AP2 project that needed a driver airbag. I found an AP1 airbag for cheap and once it was time for install things were no bueno.. So I had to eat it and buy an AP2 airbag.

the problem is i bought a VGS steering wheel (custom fitted from AP1 wheel) and I'm trying to get that installed on my AP2.
the seller (S2KPUDDYDAD) has told me it fits on ALL year S2000's and was going to give me instructions but he has not gotten back to me in a few days and my install is happening today.
now i read this thread and is a lil concerned
