I've used it more often than not in the opposite situation -- an annoyingly long low-speed zone (30km/h) adjacent to a park I pass regularly. The least I can set it for seems to be 40km/h, which is low enough to not get me a ticket in this zone -- but what fun feeling the car try and hold that speed in a low gear. Its like that 25-cent ride you got outside the supermarket as a kid...

I use mine all the time but since I use my car mainly to get to the track and back (as long as 10 hours each way) and on the track I don't think I could live without. You guys who've never used it obviously don't drive the west much. Nothin like I-5 from LA to Stockton with the cruise at 99MPH. Actually there are plenty of things but none so boring.
However, setting the cruise at 140MPH for over an hour is bad for the engine (as one who shall remain nameless found out).

Like a few people have mentioned I use the Cruise Control to keep my speed down on certain stretches of highway (freeway for you westerners). There is a stretch of 95 in northern Maryland that the cops just sit on. A couple of weeks ago on my way north I had to set it since there was literally a cop every mile for about 8 miles adn without it I would have been doing 90+mph and been busted. Then there was the Delaware cop sitting a little inside the state line waiting for everyone to blast it once they got out of Maryland. He had three people pulledc over when I went whizzing by.

No one has mentioned this yet. Cruise control and wet roads or in the Winter is a very bad idea. You are not "there" to react immediately. I never use it unless it's dry and warm. I do like it up on the highway for the piece of mind re:speed traps. Set it and forget it. Wait for some maniac to pass you eventually, and then you are free to rip down the road with them out front blocking for you. When they turn off, or you lose sight of them, just take your foot off the pedal and wait for the next nutjob rabbit. I'm 6'6", so I do enjoy letting the leg rest now and again.

That sounds like my inseam also. Don't buy clothes much, have to try things on as the measurements don't really tell the truth I've found. I did buy a small pillow for the seat to put under the right thigh for any long hauls. Otherwise I just keep angling the leg differently from time to time. There is plenty of room under the gas pedal and would love to have some adjustment made so that it would be further away, but have been told it's not possible.

Good story Triple-H.
I just don't see how the Nissan design is any better then the s2000 design.
Less buttons = better in this case.
Top button = Accelerate
Bottom button = Decelerate
Both at same time = Disengage cruise <-- No peddle tapping necessary.
BTW - I've use cruise a lot on the highway and last weekend I drove the gf's Echo from NJ to DC with no cruise control and my ankle was bothering me by the time we got to DC.
