Anyone tried painting this part of the car before?

The black piece that attaches to the rear bumper and is above the tips of the exhaust.

Wonder if it makes the car look lower from the back?

best way to do it is to tape it off, paint it, clear the entire bumper, make sure the paint matches before doing anything off course
