Anyone tried insulating air box w/ spray-in foam
I was thinking of trying Great Stuff (?) without gutting the box interior. Would the top and botom of filter be flow restricted if I fill the plastic ribs up with foam?
I previously tried some 1/4" neoprene rubber, but the adhesive couldn't stand the heat plus the filter was getting squeezed (resricted) top and bottom.

Cooler air. I noticed some people have gutted their boxes and added different types of insulation. With the neoprene, I tested a 5-10 degree difference, but not exactly in controlled conditions.

I would stay away from insulating around the filter. The calcs I did awhile back show some pretty high air velocities at WOT in the air box. The last thing you want to do is tear off some foam and stick it to the filter.
I think some kind of insulation on outside of the airbox might be useful, but the biggest fix is going to come from pulling cooler air in (i.e., not pulling air from under the hood).
