i had mine done at 9K and it was fine for about 3K and then it started up again..the dealer is balking at doing it again...i've only got 14k on my '01 spa and really want it fixed by the time winter comes and the top goes up for an extended period...does anyone really know what american honda is willing to do or does it all fall to the dealer?

Thanks for your help

Arthur, I think that the folks that have had their clutch replaced several times didn't get the -055 clutch disk the first time and some of them didn't get the new disk the second time either. I have close to 2000 miles on mine (-055 disk) and it's very quiet. I checked the invoice after I picked up my car and it had the correct part number for the disk.

Good luck in your quest,
Bob

Had this done at 6K this past spring. The noise is still there ..... if you really listen for it, but is less than 1 percent of what it once was.

Bob

thanks very much for your help. You have told us exactly what we want to hear !!!!!!!! The 055 clutch is the way to go.

Although do you know anyone who has put a fair few miles on the 055 clutch to see whether the noise comes back, say 12,000 miles because Honda Australia technicians reckon that the noise will eventually come back EVEN WITH the 055 clutch plate

I have a 2002 in Canada and have not heard any BUZZING NOISE at all after 12,500 kms. So I guess this problem doesn't exist with the 02's. Am I right...wrong?
