Default Anyone with roadkill experience? I toasted a raccoon tonite

While driving home tonight, I ran over a fairly large raccoon. Poor critter must have been torn to shreds, and I'm hatin' the fact that I gotta look under the car tommorrow to see if there's any damage. Anyone know what kind of damage to expect, if any? It's my first roadkill. It ran between the front and rear tires, so there's no front end damage.

Just remember to take any rings off before pulling the guts from your grill. I know a guy who lost his wedding band in a deer...at least that's what he told his wife.

Most likely there will be nothing to see Vince. Maybe some fur or something stuck in a crack, but I bet you won't find any damage under there at all.

Yeah. It's bizarre; I'm sure it will need an underside wash, but I sure as hell am not going to take it through an automated car wash. Maybe I better invest in a pair of lifts and do it myself.

Vince, I nailed a very large opossum the other night. I was going about 55 when I hit it. I nailed the beast squarely with the right front tire. No damage that I can see.

If you don't smack them, they might roll as you go over. If you look back quickly they look like an out of balance bowling ball. I've seen them walk away dizzy after a couple of minutes. Is your car lowered? A true death sentence.

Definitly expect to find some fur stuck to your under carriage. I hit a squirrel with my old civic and there was a piece of his/her skin and fur stuck like glue to the lip of my Konig wheel. I had to go for the power washer with the quickness!
