Default Anyone paint their exhaust silencers?

I have an Invidia exhaust. For the time being, we are running the silencers, which are shiny silver.

Has anyone out there painted the face of their silencers black so that that they don't stand out so much? If so, what kind of paint is recommended and has it held up?

High temp paint should work.

They make specialt high temp paint for engines and exhausts. PJ1 makes a good product, you can usually pick it up from a motorcycle dealership.

I used flat black engine paint and it made them look a lot better than before they were painted. I had 0 issues and never needed to touch them up.

This was a while back when I had the invidia exhaust

Great, I was hoping I could use something so simple - did you use an aerosol engine paint? I've seen some in aerosol and some in liquid.

Also, did you do the inside of the silencer piping as well, or just the exterior portion.

Thanks all for the tips.

Ya, I used aerosol 2 coats and it was sooooo much better looking than with those installed before paint almost looks like they aren't there, unless the lighting is right
