Default Anyone know the life expectancy of the convertible motor?

Anyone know how reliable is the convertible top's motor? If used multiple times on most days, how long could it possibly last? It after all moves mechanically. I was just wondering bc I've never read anything about it. I'm just hoping it lasts a good while

I think you'll have a top frame mechanism failure before the motor goes.

3 years, 89k miles, and top goes down at least twice a day. So far so good!

I've been either lurking or posting on this forum since October of 2001 and I can't remember ever encountering anyone whose top mechanism failed.
I think we're in good hands here. Honda engineering rules!

Another thing to keep in mind: There are four electric motors that actuate the convertable top mechanism. What are the odds they'll all fail?

How many have to fail for the top to be a no-go? Murphy's Law and all that...
