Wrong

Auto auctions do inspections and if there is or has been paint work, they automatically assume there has been body damage.
Ive bought and sold cars like this, it really hurts a dealer trying to sell a car like this with it showing up on carfax.
9 times out of 10 its a minor fender bend that had no frame damage or unibody damage.

If it is auto auction announced it usually isnt anything wrong, if it insurace or auto body announced then you have an issue
An auction will only check the car if you ask for an after sale psi or if you catch it you can arbitrate later, do you think an auction like Manheim who registers 7000-10000 cars on a Friday checks everyone. Some auctions use carfax, autochecks etcc... if they show frame or something than they will probably announce it.

Wow you guys dont know what the hell you are talking about.

Yes the auction checks most cars that go through the auction and gives them a rating 1-5.

Its called a condition report.

Here is an actual condition report and yes if they see any previous paint repair they automatically assume it has been hit and repaired.

uggested repairs are based on Manheim professional inspector's recommendation.
Total labor hours include paint, body or repair estimates.

^ those are from the fleet and lease lane(they have it done), enterprise, banks like chase, hann financial, etcc not the dealer run lanes. They do that for online bidders. I have been going to dealer auctions 20 years now so I do kind of have an idea.

Actually that is not a car out of a fleet or lease lane, however the s2000 we are currently talking about in this thread is probably a fleet or leased returned car.
Ive been doing this for quite some time also.

No hard feelings, you just came on a little strong about all auction cars not just the s2000 in the post and us not knowing anything. What dealership? Maybe I will see you up there.
