Default Anyone here owned both a S2000 and a EVO/STi

If you went from a s2 to a evo/sti, or the other way around, i just wanna hear from you what car you enjoyed driving more.
just kinda thinkin about doing this, i deffinitly love my s2000, but im just really tempted by having a turbo car with AWD, i like how easy it is to add power to turbo cars. plus the 4 door might be nice since this is my daily. and i live really close to Tahoe so it would be nice to throw my board on top of a sti/evo and cruise to the snow every weekend.

so if you have owned a s2 and a EVO/STi, let me know what one you liked better, and also how was the reliability of the evo/sti

I came from a modded WRX - completely different driving style! I honestly can't say one is better than the other- they're soooo different- but both styles are sooo much fun. It comes down to you
1.How often do you drive with the top down ( a sunroof doesn't even compare.)
2.Are you a mechanical guy, or an electrical assist kinda guy?
3.weather - do you get/drive in snow?

Same as WPRAX, but instead of the WRX, I've got a Legacy GT Wagon with a 5spd.. Pretty much the same internals with different ducting and a more "mature" body wrapped around it.

I love both.. the S is awesome for summer cruising, the GT is fun for decent low end torque. The S handles twistys much better, but requires more skill and finesse to drive. With AWD you can just power around a corner and the car follows with ease.

went from an approx 380hp wrx to the S. Hated the S at the first drive but almost 3 years later, I would never go back to a 4dr 4wd turbo as a 1st car. Maybe as the 2nd car for the gf to share.

The driving experience of the S is pure and the wrx was amazing fun but the S is really what driving is about...

I had an Evo. The steering is quick and the power is great. However, it's a bit crude in the trans/shifter. The interior is inferior to almost any Honda, let alone the s2000. It's def more practical if you're down to one car. I wouldn't dd a s2k.

I had a stage 2 modded WRX two cars before the s2k.

too different to compare/ It comes down to personal taste and needs. From what you describe, I think you will be happier with the STi/ Evo. More usability is always a plus for your primary car. You'll also go faster

If you like convertibles and RWD handling ... 2sk is the way to go.

yes.
i owned a ap2 as my daily driver... and a evo as my race car
sold my ap2 buying a ap1 now

i love RWD for the road. the s2000 is my perfect street car.
i enjoyed my s2000 far more than the evo.

but as viod said... it has to do with road conditions, and personal prefference.

I have both an AP1 and an Evo 9. It's really hard for me to say which is more fun to drive. Torque and grip is nice (Evo 9). Seating position is much better in the S2000. They're both fun in very different ways.

As for Evo vs. STi, I've driven the STi and prefer the Evo because it handles sharper. Looks are a wash for me, STi sounds better, interior sucks in both cars compared to the S2000.
