I'll have to post some pics of my front end for you all. I have almost 33,000 miles on my '00 and the entire front end is COMPLETEY PITTED EVERYWHERE. I wish I had gotten a stonegard when the car was new. It's too late now. People often mistaken my paint for black with metallic flakes, etc. In one square inch of paint on my front end, you could probably count 35-50 pin-point size spots where the white undercoat shows through from pitting.

My S2000 doesn't have enough wear and tear on the front end to denote any repainting yet, but when I had my 97 Prelude, I had the front bumper repainted almost every year I had it. One time I had them do the hood too. In comparison to what we spend on mods, $200-$300 a year for a fresh face wasn't too big of a deal to me. I did get a good deal on the painting because I brought them so much business.

I think once my current front bumper gets too badly beaten up by rock chips, I'll probably upgrade and get the Mugen SS front bumper.

Ricklobo, I have learned to take several pictures from different angles to get the sun to highlight the edge on the hood for it to show up. I don't use this photo to show the StonGard because the product isn't visible from this angle.

I agree, its not for everyone, and for some the edge where the product is visible on the hood is too much for them. Many of us live in large cities where debris on the roads makes driving a nice car a nightmare. For us there are 3 choices. The conventional bra,

the StonGard transparent type of bra, invisible from this angle as well,

or the Pamela Anderson route...braless.

Nice array of the 3 options, but you could have used a better candidate for the "bra-less" example... That eclipse has had a pretty horrific paint job (on the bumper), perhaps without any flex agent, or at best lacks the appropriate mix of flex agent which lended it to take on that hideous look - looks like he has paint flakes vs paint chips... I can send you the front end of my '95 Integra that has 120,000 miles as your Pamela Lee "example."

Nevertheless, your point is valid.... that's why I keep my S2K locked up during these winter months... and why I pass everybody so nobody gets a chance to fling a rock at me

Tanq, here in Arizona, has it on his car. I saw it after he pointed it out. He has it on the front and on the side mirrors.

He can probably comment better on this subject. But he pointed out several hits that the plastic didn't protect. He also said that some people had it on the lights here and they cracked the first summer. I understood from him that the plastic also makes washing the car more challenging. We have a lot of dust here and the plastic edges seemed to collect it.

It may be a great product, but unless the application of the product can't be seen, is done at the factory and doesn't damage other parts - I choose to pass.

I have a Colgan bra for my S that I use for highway trips, club drives, track days, ect. I have no problems with it except that it looks terrible. Better that than having to repaint the bumper once a year.

Well, I have had 2 StonGard installs on my car

1st time lasted a year 1 month till a car scraped my side fender, Lucky me having StonGard protected the paint from being scratched!!!!

2nd time reapplyed where the other car damaged my car and just taken off last week due to new body kit installed

3rd is on it's way after my paint cures!!!!!!!! Can't wait, I have drove the car 100 miles so far and now have a couple of chips (staying in the garage till my custom kit is done and the paint cures)

here is a pic of the new look

Having the bumper repainted when the chips get bad really isn't very expensive, and it's actually a lot easier than screwing with the film, for me and my body shop. I understood, when I bought the car, that it's a rock-chip magnet. Luckily the primer matches the Silverstone rather well.

I have the colgan bra, it fits vary good and doesn't flap or balloon up to 90 MPH. I only use it for highway trips so I don't know how it would hold up for extended use. I also have the mirror bras their fit isn't as good but they do the job of protecting against stone chips. Here's a picture.

Here is a pic of mine:

Picture of the Colgan Bra on a Spa Yellow S2000

Bra won't work with OEM chin spoiler but people have gotten it to work with the Coastal Metals front grill.

Properly installed it will stay in place with no problems. If someone is having a problem with one of the hooks coming loose it's probably caused by them not putting the hooks between the plastic inner fender well and the metal. I'm not crazy about the way it installs in between the metal and the plastic but that is the design.

Quick Reply: anyone have pics of stonegard'ed s2000 or installed colgan bra???
