I am waiting patiently for the 06. The reason I waited because I really don't want to spend $33k and the car consider 1 year old in 2-3 months. Also I want to see what the new color will be available and any new features or improvement since the S seem to make some kind of changes every 2 years. So what is your reason for waiting ?

Because I don't need a car (yet), unless I relocate to somewhere else

so the car is just a hobby ... no need to hurry

It's painful, but I'm waiting too. I 'don't know what part of the world you are from, but I want my 06 the second the snow disappears this spring. Rumor mill has it there will be some changes. My wild speculation says that the changes will unfortunately be mild like those made in the 00-01 to 02-03 models.

C'mon Honda. Give me back the 9000 redline w/ 2.2 liters = 264hp and drop 200-300 lbs.

The other reason to wait is scoring a big deal on an 05.

Dealers have to put up with more when the 06 models are sitting right there on their lot.

I am considering to wait as I dont need a car now. I realise that Honda makes changes like you said every 2 years (00-01, 02-03, now 04-05)...

At this point, it's proably best to wait. There may or may not be changes, but you certainly will get a better deal on dealer 05 stock after the 06 model comes out. Wait and see if the 06 offers anything worth the premium, if it doesn't, get an 05... if you can find the color you want.

Although I'm new around here, and as yet do not have an S2k, I've been wondering the same thing as you Black8 - whether to get an 05 or wait a few more months for the 06.

So here are my thoughts . . .

Black8 - You are waitng patiently, I am not ! If it wasn't for the fact that I'm currently driving an 03 Acura TL-s with 11 months to go on my lease I would have a 2000 sitting in my garage right now!!!

I leased my Acura 2 yrs ago in the summer when Acura was clearing out old stock to get ready for the newly designed 04. That's when I got a terrific deal and It looks like Honda is doing that now with the S2000. They're offering a terrific lease price and, as I recently experienced when I test drove a S2000, they are willing to go beyound that offer if you are willing to haggle price.

However, it all comes down to what's in your heart. My heart is set on one right now but I must say there is a desire to wait and take my chances on the redsign of the 06 which I may or maynot like????

I am waiting patiently... but man it not easy. Everytime I see an S on the road I said to myself I could be driving that car right now. But... I know in the end I will be glad I waited...all my questions of what if I waited will be answered. I saw on hondapreview.com the other day that 06 will have a new Laguna Blue Pearl as a new color. I love blue..but not too crazy about Suzuka... so may be I will rewarded with this new color or may be not but I know for sure in 2-3 months. It's too late in the game now to buy an 05. If someone looking for really good deal on the 05 then they have to wait for the 06 on the lot for sale first. All I know is that I will owned an 06 one week from the day it arrived on the dealer lot. Christmas comes early this year for me and may be for you too.
