Default Anyone else think the S2k is hard to drive?

Im just wondering if anyone thinks that the S2000 is kind of hard to drive smooth? I mean I know especially compared to like a Civic or Sentra it would be but I mean compared to even a 350Z or Evo/Scooby.

Now that Ive had it for over a month I kinda find it finnicky. I mean I know its a far cry from what Im used to driving but it just seems to be more difficult to drive smoothly at all times.

Don't have enough seat time in a 350z/STi/Evo to say, but I don't think its any tougher. It always takes some time to learn to drive a new car well, especially if its your first manual transmission car.

Compared with my daily driver 95 Ford Probe GT, I actually think its easier to drive the S. My gear changes are much smoother in the S2K.

Definitely not my first manual but my first RWD and first real sports car. I just cant seem to shift/drive it smoother than any other car that I have owned/driven. I dunno, maybe its me, maybe its the car... but I doubt its the car

I felt even worse than you did about1-2 years ago. I was coming from a 2003 WRX and felt very frustrated with my 2002 S2000 because I was so afraid to push it into corners.

Overall it took me 2 years so just START to appreciate the car and drive it at maybe 60% of its potential and trust me it's worth it.

Like all good things in life learning to drive the S2000 fast is hard but once you achieve your goal it will be MUCH MORE satisfying than if you've accomplished driving an EVO-STI fast.

The S2000 is hard to drive but IMHO much more rewarding once you get the hang of it. And trust me, it's worth it.

I say come back in a year and you will have changed 100%.

Who wants to drive an extreme roadster like the s2k smoothly? Especially your '02..

This car begs to be beaten on and redlined.

Or did you mean smooth gear transitions?

The thing I find hard to drive about this car is I'm always self conscious about my speed around town. I feel I have to maintain a somewhat equal limit to the autos around me for fear of aquiring moving violations.
I also have a Celica GT that (in town) I drive a little faster because I don't expect this car to attract any unwanted attention even if I'm moving a little faster than general traffic.

Yes, it is tougher tp drive fast because of the lack of torque and higher RPM power.

It also lacks stability control (mine anyway).

Hard to drive in normal conditions? No.

More difficult (requiring more skill) to drive at the limit compared to other cars? Yes.

Hard to drive mashing throttle with boost making a left turn on a half tank of gas.
