I took my car to the dealer with this problem. They just replaced the cap.

Still, I haven't had an issue since.

I bought a used 2003MY in pristine condition at some Infinity dealer out of state in September 2006 and my local Honda dealer replaced the filler neck fully free of charge (TSB) in October 2007. I even got a loaner!! My car has low miles and full service history.

i have 43k miles im hopping they will still do it for me :/ does this problem happen to mes with the gas mileage????

 

I've had this problem a few times.. First time I brought it to the dealer and they gave me a new cap.. Second time they told me they cleared the cel and said I must of put it on wrong.. On that same tank...(Read no gas fillup) CEL came back on and of course, the cap was loose.

I'm thinking its the threads on the neck don't play nice with the caps.. Like someone else said you have to push down and twist it slowly, if you notice if you don't do this it will click way too soon.

I just hate seeing CELs.
