Forgot to mention, I have an earlier post about this.
I was able to negotiate a great lease offer because when I showed up, there were a few hairline scratches on the hood caused from brushing snow off the car after a freak snow storm. You had to look very closely to find them, but was enough to give me some wiggle room. I'd take a picture but you wouldn't be able to see them. You would struggle to find them if I didn't tell you where to look. Plus they had others on the lot that weren't moving.

I think your only solution is to buy the car. Don't bother dealing with Honda, use your bank or credit union. To do this, you would probably need to come up with a down payment of a few thousand and at the same time deal with payments that are substantially larger than the $350mo your now paying. If you do the math, this may even better than the terms of the lease since a part of your monthly payment can now actually be counted as equity. You would now own the car along with your bank and would be free to sell on your terms.

I agree with this. It is the best and least hassle.

Chalk one up for the downside of leasing having to move is probably the worst

rcman,

I know it would be a gamble on your end, but I would be interested in taking over the lease. I am currently leasing two cars with AHFC right now. Shoot me a PM if you want to discuss further.
