anybody here buy an s2000 without ever driving one?

Congrats S2K4 on your purchase. I have a MY00 silverstone/black and I couldn't bear a day without driving her. If you don't mind my asking which dealership did you buy from? I've stoped at Royal Honda in Metairie a few times but haven't seen the 04 up close and personal. We should get together for some pics of our two girls and so I can check out your ride. I promise not to drool on the paint.
The folks in Metairie aren't interested in dealing. I used leverage from a couple dealers in Houston and one in Ohio to secure a good deal from the dealer across the river. It would be cool to get together ... might be a bit tight for me this holiday season.

I bought mine from a board member in Colorado in March. Had it shipped out to me, and I drove it home. That was the first time I ever drove an S2k.
On another note. When I bought my 98 Civic, I called up the dealer and told them what I wanted. They gave me a price and I said "Great, I'll pick it up tomorrow. Have it ready" I picked the car up and that was the first time I ever drove a Civic.

I purchased my S2K, and I never drove one. A few people gave me rides, but never drove one. I was actually going to buy Accord EX or a Civic SI... but when I saw that S... well you know the rest.

I placed my order in October of 2001 for a new 2002. I never drove an S2000 until a used one showed up on the Honda dealer's lot in April of '02, and then I took delivery of my new car later that month.
I did not want to test drive a new car, because I had no intention of taking it easy, and the used one allowed me to get the whole experience the first time I drove an S.
