Hey i have a 2000 s2000 and it has 50,000 miles on it and the last 2 time it rained for about 3 days in a row i found an inch of water in my trunk. i thought i was the soft top or something, but for hours with the hose spraying my car down it ended up being the gas door relese lever. i ended up siliconing the inside and outside of the triger.

 

are u talking about the filler neck that bolts to the body with the 3, 8mm nuts?

 

doesnt siliconing just make it look ugly... im sure they sell those rubber pieces somewhere :S dont know much. ..

 

Glad you found the leak...frequently the trunk leak is elsewhere. Here is a post on how to fix the other common leak area:

no i am talking about the thing that releses the gs door and i siliconed from the inside.

 

after i read this , i check my trunk and i find there is oil leak under the tool box !! !!

look at the trunk , and i don't even know where the oil come from !! please help !!

 

I also have an oil leak under the tool box. where could the oil be coming from?
