I have to disagree here -- having driven S2000s, Boxsters, and Miatas, among others, in competition, I have to say that a stock S2000 is much more prone to coming around on you when you make an error or upset the car than the others. The cause for this is usually obvious in retrospect -- as you mentioned, lifting or braking in mid-corner is the usual culprit -- but in my opinion most other cars are much more forgiving in these situations than the stock '00-'01 S2000 (I haven't driven an '02+, although I understand it's improved).

My car, on the other hand, after the addition of a super-stiff front sway bar and shocks, pushes too much for my taste -- I'm trying to dial in some oversteer.

Steve,

You might try either a stiffer bar for the rear or try a bit less toe on your rear alignment settings. I have not put a stiffer bar on mine yet. But, it is in the works. When I do this, I think I will get a rear bar as well. I feel I have a perfect balance on my car now. I have lowered it with Koni's and KG/MM Super Sports. I got a fairly aggressive alignment done. (rear camber -2.2deg, front camber -1.2deg., rear toe .03deg, front toe .01deg. and about 7.0deg castor, if I remember these specs correctly) I can now get the front tires to squeal a bit when I corner very hard. They have never done this before. The front really bites hard! The rear comes around nicely when I want it to. No funny stuff either. Before, I had much less toe on the rear and the back of the car was quite a bit more loose. But, the tires seemed to last a lot longer with less toe. I just hope I can get a decent ammount of tire life with these settings.

Bottom line is, the S2000 does exactly what your right foot tells it to do. If it's doing something you don't like, remember, it's doing what you made it do.

At least that's what my '01 does (and I love everything about that), we'll have to wait and see how my '04 does in a couple weeks.
