I found on my MY04 that the passenger seat rattles if it is not leaned all the way back when no one is in it and Visa Versa if there is someone in it.

Solution to my rattle:

1. Recline all the way back is no one in passenger seat.

2. Don't recline all the way back if someone in passenger seat.

Also I have a rattle sometimes from the plastic piece that covers the base of the rear view mirror. Sometimes shoving it into place stop this rattle.

Although the issues above can be the problem, If I were to place a bet on the problem, it would be the passenger seatbelt banging on the panel. Just move it onto the seat, and the problem should go away.

I think Ive experienced the passenger seat belt problem, but this rattle occurs whether or not I have a passenger, making it even more frustrating.

People get in my new (used) car to experience the glory that is the s2000, only to be bombarded by this unsoundly rattle......

Me too, but that's why i usually have the passenger seat belt fasten. Also, i tri not to have the passenger seat reclined to far back so it doesn't rub against the back roll bar headrest cover things.

Good luck

It was the passenger side sun-visor! Aghhh.

My friend gets in the car for 1.765 seconds and finds the problem.

So, your friend got in the car, shut the door, and you accelerated to speed high enough to cause the vibration, all in 1.765 seconds? I just tried the same twenty-two times, and I could only get it down to 3.451 seconds. There were a couple close calls when I began accelerating before my friend was all the way inside my car.

I had a rattle that was similar sounding to yours. Turns out the hood rubber bumpers needed to be cranked out to tighten up the hood. The sound I was hearing was the hood rattling and it was being transmitted through the a/c vents.

i got the same so i just jam back the seat til it hits the roll bar. now they are both scratched up pretty bady if you push forward to see where it rubs. not too bad though because you can't see it when the seat is all the way back.
