Amuse didn't say they beat a Modena; a magazine editor doing a write-up on the car was the one who made the claim that it's faster than a Ferrari on slicks, and I'm pretty sure it's not just a Modena.
One of the reasons the Amuse AP1 was able to accomplish that is the fact that the track was relatively small and highly technical.
ASM is the fastest AP1 now, if you didn't already know.

one problem: Amuse took of the convertable top, and put on their own CF hard top. As long as 100 lbs, that also took away the fun part of S2K driving experience.
personally, I found Amuse's way of weight reduction is too extreme, I wouldn't mind just strip the interior, that would save a lota money. But don't get me wrong, anyone gotta give it to amuse for their really high quality stuff.

Some of us don't care for the convertible top. I got the car because there's nothing else like it in the price range, despite me not being a fan of roadsters. Convertible top and motors add weight, reduce aerodynamic efficiency, and roadsters are naturally weaker in structure, requiring more braces here and there, making them heavier than they should be.
I'm taking off the soft top mechanism as well when my hardtop comes.
