In my opinion, the 00-03 tailights, interior, engine are better. i just want MY04 rims, and headlights, i dont like the idea of orange in my tailights. bumpers are arguable, both are good. F20C fah lyf!!

You can still buy a NEW 2003 if you look hard and are not picky on color. If you go to a dealership they can locate if it is not at theirs. Of course you should be able to buy well below invoice if you negotiate well. It also helps to know staff and have a good relationship at a dealership.
I think newer is always better. There was a reason they changed all that they changed. Just like the NSX, P911, Corvett almost improved with every year so did the S2000.
Of course that is just my opinion and don't mean to upset anybody with this.
I was like you I always thought newer was better until I saw the wheels and front bumper of the 04 S It seems nowadays that newer is not always better . Just take a look at those new Bangle BMW's
To me it seems like for every hit there is a miss from the same company . For example the new Mustang is while that new Thunderbird was
V10 motor in the new 5 series - BIG HIT ; 5 series styling - MISS
The 911 was especially not better than the 993 was. The 993 looked agressive and mean while the 996 looked neutered in comparison.
Nope, i have an original MY99 and do not like the MY04 at all.
In my opinion the front and rear bumber are ugly, the increased ride hight is stupid, the front and rear lights are too cluttered, the new speedo layout isnt as nice and the fake alloy trim is just 'shite' also the all red or all blue interior is just way over the top.
I modded my car with stuff that i think makes it look way better than standard, but the 04 modifications seem purley to make the car more usable or have more mass market appeal.
