Default almost wrecked in the rain...

I bought a used s2k two days ago. It was rebuilt so it had some issues to iron out. On the way to the mechanic today I completely lost traction. I guess I am still not used to the RWD + higher HP (compared to the civic I have been driving since well...forever). The ground was a bit wet from a morning shower and my rear end just fishtailed until I spun a complete 360 into a grass ditch on the side of the road. Surprisingly there was zero damage. I thought for sure the lip was broken because the previous owner had lowered it quite a bit.

I am thanking the s2k gods and am looking into getting some all-season tires on top of the list of things I have to do to the car. Also I need to work on my shifting. I was really hoping my manual transmission skills from my motorcycle experience would just transfer over but relearning the throttle/clutch is a bit of a challenge. I think if anything else, I need to respect the car.

/end rant

BTW, Anyone have any recommendations for good all-season tires?

Edit: Mechanic called back and said the previous owner disconnected the ABS in the rear wheel. Why would someone want to do that?

I bought some Falken ZIEX ZE-912 about six months ago. I like them and they were cheap, better ride than previous BFGoodrich G-Force.

summer tires are just fine in the wet. Throttle control is key.

I also chose 912s for all season use as my S is daily driven. rain or storm. Not a bad choice and I haven't spun out yet

Boy did I learn that the hard way. But yea some more practice and new all weather tires, you'll be fine.

On the topic of tires:

Falken Ziex 912 - Had them before, they get CRAZY loud halfway through their tread. Other than that, they're not bad for the money.

I want to throw out another tire recommendation:

Hankook Ventus V12 EVO are summer tires with surprisingly decent wet characteristics. I'd get them over Ziex912 anyday (I have the V12 on my MS3). But like someone else said, no tire will save you if don't be careful with the throttle.
