Almost sold my s2000 again....ahh wtf !?

As some one who has never owned one until a week ago I say keep it. It took me a long time to find one for sale in decent condition, and there really isn't anything comparable to this car as an alternative. I've wanted one since I first saw and drove a friend's parents S2000 the first year they were made, and finally made the purchase. Now that I have it I feel like a spoiled 5 year old yelling "MINE, MINE, MINE". I don't think I will ever sell this car, and you shouldn't either!

I could not see myself selling an S, even when I have a family later on, I'll purchase a sedan.
Yeah priorites do take place and I'm very well aware of my own fiscal responsibility, but I know I'd regret it and with the condition mine is in, the joys, and everything else... I know it's no Ferrari, it's no exotic, but hey, it's MY honda, my S. And I love it, that's all there is to it.

Well, I got cold feet and flaked out once again on selling my 2000 nfr Ap1 to a local kid...
I myself purchased "Special" back in Nov. 2009 for 12grand cash @ 70k miles (mint condition/ bone stock). I daily'd "Special" for 3 years until I was able to get ahold of a daily driver but dealt with 2 failures that Special had for me within the first 3 years (Special's transmission and differential took a dump on me). I know Special is far from mint as she has a few dings and a smaller dent but after 5 years but I just can't fathom letting her go for 10 grand CASH that was pretty much in my face, I mean it has a handful of rare goodies along with a complete drivetrain overhaul about a year ago. Latly I've been attempting to save up for a 100% body restoration along with a fresh coat of Nfr...KKB still rates a MINT 2000 s2000 with 122,xxx @12grand STOCK! I understand I'd never get all the 18/19grand I've sunk into Special over the years but I can drop another grand or two to achieve top dollar value that Special truely deserves, slowly but surely.
This year hasn't been exactly awesome for me with breaking a 1/4 panel window on my daily (by mistake), my small accident i had with Special (blessed that it wasn't worse then it was/seemed), family issues, girl problems, breaking my arm/surgery 2 months ago requiring a plate and some screws and still having my arm in a cast and most important missing work. Ive spent most of my down time thinking about issues, priorities, and goals that i need to handle once I can to better myself as an individual.
Ive heard people who sell there s2000's always regret it...even if they had no need to sell it, or even go as far as aquiring another s2000 after the fact. I feel people who never owned an s2000 (or until they do) don't realise how perfectly machined this road/track monster (almost killed me atleast 3 times) was bread up to be whither or not your a young, old, slow, fast, good, or bad driver (or maybe im a 26 year old whos obsessed?) idk, I don't like to think that I am obsessed due to me having other hobbies, friends, and interest outside of cars but i do have a great respect for sport cars and motorcycles. I honestly think this is the best "RWD sports car" ever made with its semi affordable and worthy/friendly maintance (unlike overpriced e30/e36/e46 bmw parts that are made out of plastic vs. oem honda parts) but I shouldn't say that becuase I've never personally owned an e36 (m3).
The point of me writing all this (ranting) is that "no automobile will ever fulfill the driving experience that an s2000 will provide" especially for the price and friendlier maintenance that can be done by its own owner (unless a lift is required). After all this i just want to maintain my current milage as best as possible and continue on with the attention and work that Special is asking me for...but at my own pace, not hers, or anyone else's.
Dont sell your s2000 if you don't have too. You will regret it.

Whither or not I get flamed or complimented for posting this, it doesnt matter becuase at this point I feel I've gotten rid of some relevant information thats been floating around in my brain recently. Thanks to s2ki and you guys for letting me do so.

I almost got an s2k when I felt I was ready, but wasn't sure. Got an 08 Si instead and I'm glad I did. The 3 extra years I waited made it even more special and I got exactly what I wanted (low mileage ap2) and every day I am thankful and can afford her with ease.
Sounds like you're on the right track though and should be focusing on other things and when the time comes you'll be a to pick up another. Just spend a lot of time on the name too haha Best of luck, dude!
